Song #2: Give Thanks Now
I created this great Thanksgiving song that’s perfect for teaching our little ones the true meaning of gratitude. Give Thanks Now, and it’s sung to the familiar tune of “Three Blind Mice.” The lyrics are simple and sweet, making it easy for kids to pick up.
Lyrics
(Tune: Three Blind Mice)
Verse 1:
Give thanks now, Give thanks now,
Count blessings true, Count blessings true,
For home and health and those we love,
For skies so blue and stars above,
For simple joys we’re thinking of,
Give thanks now.
Verse 2:
Grateful hearts here, Grateful hearts here,
Share what we have, Share what we have,
For harvest bounty on our plates,
For cherished memories we create,
For moments small that feel so great,
Grateful hearts here.
Song #3: 12345 Clever Turkeys Still Alive
Looking for a fun and silly turkey song for Thanksgiving? Check out 12345 Clever Turkeys Still Alive, sung to the familiar tune of “12345 Once I Caught a Fish Alive.” It’s an adorable and playful way to get the kids laughing while they imagine clever turkeys outsmarting everyone!
Lyrics
(Tune: 12345 Once I Caught a Fish Alive)
Verse 1:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
Clever turkeys still alive,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
They outsmarted us again.
Why did they get away?
‘Cause they’re smarter every day!
Where did all those turkeys go?
Ask the farmer, he might know!
Verse 2:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
Next year we’ll give it one more try,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10,
Will they outsmart us again?
We’ll chase them all around the yard,
Catching turkeys sure is hard!
Next year we’ll succeed,
We’ll be quicker, yes indeed!
Song #4: Pumpkin Pie Rhyme
If you’re looking for a fun and simple Thanksgiving rhyme to share with your little ones, Pumpkin, Pumpkin in a Pie is perfect. It’s all about a classic fall food—delicious pumpkin pie! The catchy rhyme talks about mixing, baking, and sharing that warm, sweet treat that we all look forward to.
Lyrics
Pumpkin, pumpkin in a pie,
Orange and yummy, my, oh my!
The crust is round, the filling sweet,
A tasty treat for us to eat.
Mix it, bake it, nice and hot,
Share a slice, we like it a lot!
Pumpkin pie, so good to try,
Makes us happy, you and I!
Song #5: Thanksgiving Feast
This song is fun, easy to learn, and perfect for getting your little ones excited about the holiday. You can sing it while preparing the feast or even around the table before eating.

Here to eat, here to eat,
Family gathered here to eat,
Thankful hearts today!
Song #6: Gobble, gobble, gobble
This is such a simple turkey dance song, but my kids love the “gobble” reported over and over again. They love to strut around the room bobbing their necks back and forth and then wobbling their feet. So easy to learn. So fun!
Lyrics
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, says the bird,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, says the bird,
Mr. Turkey gobble gobbles and his feet go wobble, wobble,
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, says the bird.
Song #7: Five Fat Turkeys (with new verses!)
Five Fat Turkeys was one of my favorite songs to sing at Thanksgiving when I was growing up. I loved this great song so much that I wrote two more verses for it. It’s a playful song with three verses that tell the story of clever turkeys escaping Thanksgiving dinner.
Lyrics
Verse 1:
Five fat turkeys are we,
We slept all night in a tree,
When the cook came around,
We couldn’t be found,
And that’s why we’re here, you see!
Verse 2:
Five fat turkeys, so sly,
We saw the farmer walk by,
But we ran away,
And hid in the hay,
Now we’re safe and dry, oh my!
Verse 3:
Five fat turkeys, beware,
We’ll have to be careful next year,
When Thanksgiving’s near,
We’ll disappear,
And hide until it’s clear!
